Summary of Qualifications

Avid ocean racing sailor and cruiser.  Extremely active in the San Francisco Bay sailing community.  Closely associated with the Pacific Cup Regatta organization and a veteran of three California to Hawaii races and two associated deliveries. Boat owner for three years in Micronesia.  Veteran of Tahiti to Hawaii, California to Mexico passages, Hawaiian interisland sailing as well as European cruising.   Biker, swimmer, marathon runner, traveler, wife, and attorney.  Can steer a straight course in all kinds of weather, set a spinnaker, and tie a fast bowline. Keeps her head in emergency situations.  Has good stamina and a pleasant disposition, especially when sailing.

CHRONOLOGY

1985 Learned to sail on Lake Merritt, joined Cal Sailing Club, raced mostly on Merit 25’s

1986 Took sailing/cruising course in Greece

1986-95 Sailed/raced with the Cal Sailing and Berkeley Yacht Clubs. Sailed many Vallejo races,
Three Bridge Fiasco’s, etc. Took Coast Guard Boating class, CPR, North U Racing tactics

1995-98 Spent three years in Palau, Micronesia where owned a sailboat—a 26 foot AMF Paceship
used to sail on interisland passages. Organized summer sailing camps for children.
1997-98 Commodore of the Royal Belau Yacht Club, Palau, Micronesia

1998 Returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and sailing/racing in the Bay

2002-12 Volunteered as staff with the Pacific Cup California to Hawaii regatta organization for the
2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012 races.

2003-06 Served on the Board of Directors of the Berkeley Yacht Club

2006 Sailed from California to Hawaii as crew on a Beneteau 57 in the Pacific Cup Regatta

2006-08 Secretary of the Pacific Cup Regatta Board. Crewed on a Gibsea 43 during the Drake’s
Bay race and its delivery after the Pac Cup from Kaneohe, Hawaii to Ko Olina, Hawaii

2008-

Present Crew on a Santana 22, for Berkeley Yacht Club Chowders and Friday night races.

2009 Crewed on a Beneteau 40.7 for the Midwinter races and the Farallones open ocean race out
of San Francisco Bay. Crewed on a Lidgard 60 for the Windjammers Santa Cruz race, and
an 82-foot maxi for the Half Moon Bay race.

2010 Delivery crew on a Standfast 40, from Hawaii to California with three other crewmembers-18
days at sea. Raced the boat back to Hawaii during the Pac Cup with five other crew.

2011 Crewed on an Express 37, multiple times, including double handing in the race to
Drake’s Bay, California and back.

2012 Crewed on a three-week delivery of a Beneteau 39 sloop from Tahiti, French Polynesia to
Kaneohe, Hawaii. A non-stop sail of over 2,000 miles.

2013 Sailed as crew on the Baja Ha Ha Cruising Rally from San Diego, California to Cabo San
Lucas, Mexico, a distance of 750 miles

2014 Sailed interisland in the Hawaiian Islands from the Big Island to Oahu as well as from Oahu
to Kauai on a Beneteau 39 over 300 miles of sailing in challenging Hawaiian channels

2016 Sailed in the Pacific Cup Regatta from California to Hawaii as first mate on a 38-foot ketch.

2017 Sailed as crew for two weeks in Greece on a Bavaria 42
